UP Community Fund
UP Community Fund (UPCF) is an Urban Advisors Initiative, a manager of emerging investment managers. The place-based loan fund provides commercial loans to small businesses, focusing on borrowers that may not have access to traditional financing – this may be due to desired loan amount, or minor blemishes that can be addressed with technical assistance. UP Community Fund provides both capital and technical assistance to borrowers: technical assistance to help borrowers grow the business and become attractive traditional capital borrowers. We also actively seek opportunities for borrowers to create impacts within the community, including job creation, hiring local employees, workforce development, and profit sharing. Socially-oriented and mission-focused investors represent UP Community Fund's initial funders, and we all believe in concentrated efforts to create positive economic change. Initial markets include the Southeast and Mid Atlanitc regions, St. Louis, MO.
